San Isidro Reserve is located in the East Slope Cloud Forest surrounded by rivers, waterfalls and pristine forests. San Isidro Reserve offers kilometers of well marked and maintained forest trails that will lead through a variety of habitat zones typical of the region.. One of the rare species that we can frequently observe is the White-bellied Antpitta and with luck the Mountain Tapir come close to the feeders of the lodge. The Reserve has over 474 possible registered bird species.
Some of the frequent possible bird species include White-bellied Antpitta, Brown-capped Vireo, Cinnamon Flycatcher, Chestnut-capped Brushfnch, Black-eared Hemispingus, Sickle-winged Guan, Squirrel Cuckoo, Yellow-billed Cacique, Andean Solitaire, Buff-throated Saltator, Red-crested Finch, Olivaceous Woodpecker, Booted-rackettailed (east), Flame-faced tanager (East), Many-Spotted Hummingbird, Roadside Hawk, Golden-tailed Sapphire, Collared Trogon, Yellow-headed Caracara, Violaceous Jay, Magpie Tanager and others.
